Attention: Destinations at the lakes are somewhat dependent on the water level and may need to be replaced at short notice by other destinations.

Day 1 - From Nairobi to Mount Kenya:

We start from Nairobi (hotel or airport) our drive north to Laikipia with the Aberdare ridge and Kenya's highest mountain, Mt. Kenya with its 5198 m. We will spend the next days and nights here.
In the cozy Rhino Watch Lodge with a fantastic pool with a view of Mt.Kenya we move into comfortable tents.
We spend the afternoon hiking to the viewpoint on the hill behind the lodge and to visit the pool. There is a drink by the pool or in the lookout bar overlooking the valley.
Before and after dinner there is a fireplace in the bar to end the evening.

Day 2 - Solio and the rhinos

After breakfast on the sun terrace, we start our trip to Solio. There we find the largest rhino population in East Africa. The park is very varied in landscape, from open grassland to marsh on the tree-lined river you will find everything. And there are not only rhinos but also big cats, buffaloes, giraffes and much more. We packed a picnic which we enjoy under a tree with a view.
For afternoon coffee, we are back in our lodge and spend a cozy evening together.

Day 3 - Hiking in the Aberdares:

Today we drive to a beautiful garden to walk to giraffes at the entrance of the Aberdare. As a reward, we will have a nice lunch and relax by the pool or treat ourselves to a massage in the Indian SPA.
(Alternatively for the very sporty we can also go there .. easy tour about 3 hours, sneakers are sufficient)

Day 4 - Naivasha, Home of the lioness Elsa:

We say goodbye to the highlands and head south-west for a little stop at the Thomson Falls to cross the equator. The trip goes to Lake Naivasha where we check in to cottages or to the lodge.
A short trip brings us to Elsamere for "high tea" on the lake. Elsamere is the original house of Joy and Georg Adamson, known for the films "Löwin Elsa" and "Free Born".

Day 5 - Naivasha, Birdwatching and Hippos:

After breakfast, we start for a boat trip on the lake. We will see a fascinating bird life and of course hippos. With a little luck, we can watch the majestic osprey catching fish.

After the boat trip, alternatively, a short hike or mountain bike in the Hells Gate on the program. Lunch is served in a small restaurant by the lake or alternatively as a picnic on the way.
As always, we spend the evening together around the campfire or open fireplace.

Day 6 - passing Rift Valley to Masai Mara:

We say goodbye to the lake and drive through the Rift Valley past colorful Masai villages to the Massai Mara. We like to stop for a drink, a snack or a photo.
We check in at the Aruba Camp in the comfort tent with veranda facing the river. The possibility for a guided hike in the afternoon is offered.

Day 7 - Safari days in the Masai Mara:

Today, after breakfast in the morning, we will start for a full day excursion to the Massai Mara. The trip takes us through a varied landscape to the Mara River. We take our picnic in the park. After a sundowner around the campfire, the 3-course dinner awaits you in the restaurant.

Day 8 - Massai and game drives:

You will wake up at 6am with coffee and biscuits for a morning game drive, and around 9:30 am you will return to the veranda for breakfast. A guide will be happy to take a walk to the Massai Manyatta village or along the river. After lunch, drive back to the park at 15:30. And in the evening at the campfire we look forward to safari stories from you.

Day 9 - Take your last pictures:

It goes again to the early-stalking and afternoon game drive to make a last time photo-hunt. A sundowner in the park completes the day.

Day 10 - to Nairobi or beach:

We bring you back to Nairobi and say goodbye with a last meal together.
(alternatively and for a surcharge, a return flight to Nairobi or a continuation flight to Mombasa (south and north) or Malindi is possible)

The variety of animals is amazing and impressive, especially in the Maasai Mara. Over these 10 days you have become familiar with most of the Kenyan high-lights and have gained a tremendous impression of this beautiful country from mountains to savannas and lakes.
